We've all heard the phrase "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus", but do you sometimes feel like you and your love interest are galaxies apart, not just from different planets?
Anyone who has dated recently - or been involved in a relationship for any length of time -- can attest to the fact that men and women think differently.

While it would be horribly boring if both sexes were the same (think about how much you would miss making up after a fight!), sometimes it would be helpful to have an insight into your partner. Just how differently do we think and feel?
While these are obviously generalities, here are seven interesting differences between men and women that you might be able to relate to...
-- Men want to feel respected. Women want to feel cherished.
-- Women use an average of 7,000 words a day. Men use an average of 2,000.
-- When meeting a woman, one of the first things that goes through a man's mind is what kind of sexual partner she would make. One of a woman's first thoughts is what kind of husband or provider he would make.
-- To men, chocolate is just another snack. To a woman, it's a food group.
-- A man's self worth is most closely tied to his income. A woman's self worth is most closely tied to her ability to please others.
-- Men don't need three different styles of black shoes.
-- To women, intimacy means closeness. To a man it means vulnerability.
Despite these differences, men and women want many of the same things out of a relationship. A committed, loving, joy-filled relationship is possible. After all, Venus and Mars aren't that far apart.
